Film Review

A film about the fight against the traps of past, the search of gestures sense and about the truth like puzzle. A story about the dreams, guilty and death. A strange travel in the days of a past who may be yours with the nuances of other person. The interpretation of Ryan Philippe is impressive. Powerful and subtle, it create the forms of fear and hope, touch of reality and rebirth of events. The subject is old and the science to build a new image of theme is impressive. Ambiguous and clear in same time, game and dramatic discover of yourself, bones of recollections and dreams in the cells of lost life, love as ridiculous fragments of lost pictures, a wife, a brother, a car accident, some words. And the rooms of a hospital, the details of ambiguous sin, the details and the faces in a huge mirror. The life as possibility. The rules of a sin. And the sleep in far year.

I rented the I inside the other day and was intrigued from start to finish.I did have to re-watch parts to understand it but ended up with more questions. Like another person said on here,i'm surprised this movie wasn't in theater's.It would have been cool seeing it on a big screen, and Ryan Phillippe's performance blew me away.He really made me believe how tortured the character of Simon was right up until the end. It started out as a good mystery with interesting characters. The one thing I didn't understand was why Simon Cable's mother was never shown. There was only a quick mention of her being dead. His father also died but later appeared in visions along with his dead brother and his girlfriend. The story was slowly coming together and the mystery was solved but confused about the character of Anna and why she was even in it.First she's his wife, then she's a nursing student, and then a blackmailer. Her character in the whole story just did not fit.I un…

I've read some posts, I didn't have time to read them all, and I did have some questions, but after writing them down, I've made my thoughts on how this story makes sense. It's a man who dies, and his spirit runs through the scenarios that could of prevented his death, but his ego, spared relevant memories to realize the consequences of escaping his own death, leads the ego to act in order of what actually happened, and this could be said to be in spite of the true nature of his spirit, leaving the spirit to accept that death is the order the ego would take over living, since living with the consequences of escaping death would not satisfy the ego. This can be demonstrated through his struggle to make things right, his struggle to resolve the dissonance of his morality versus his will to live.If this were the intended interpretation, theoretically, what the spirit chooses becomes the choice made by the ego, and this only being realized by the spirit after manifesting th…
